Sound of Alif

This work connects script and music through the idea in Iranian mystical traditions that all letters emerge from a shared origin: alef. The instrument maps the movement of speech from the throat to the tip of the tongue, linking the places where sounds are formed to musical intervals. Body, letter, and sound meet within a shared structure.

يربط هذا العمل بين الخط والموسيقى من خلال فكرة راسخة في التقاليد العرفانية الإيرانية، مفادها أن الحروف جميعها تنبثق من أصل واحد مشترك هو الألف. وترسم الآلة مسار الكلام من الحلق إلى طرف اللسان، فتربط مخارج الأصوات بالفواصل الموسيقية، ليلتقي الجسد والحرف والصوت داخل بنية واحدة مشتركة.
