Shima Aeinehdar is an Iranian graphic designer, illustrator, and lettering artist born in Doha in 1998. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design and an MFA in Design from VCUarts Qatar. Her practice explores identity, belonging, and self-actualization through typography, illustration, and research. Drawing on her Iranian background and experience growing up in Qatar, she works with Arabic and Persian letterforms, surreal imagery, and color. Her 2025 MFA thesis, Beneath the Roots, investigates human naturalization through mangroves, bringing together science, spirituality, and storytelling. Through salt extraction and botanical compositions, she considers the reciprocal relationship between people and place. Alongside her design practice, she has led creative workshops for Renad Academy students through a VCUarts Qatar collaboration, using painting, sculpting, and playful making to support expression and exploration. Her illustrated postcard series QA 101 combines Arabic typography with depictions of Qatari food, clothing, architecture, art, and nature, introducing aspects of culture.
شيما آيينه دار مصمّمة جرافيكية ورسّامة توضيحية وخطاطة إيرانية، وُلدت في الدوحة عام ١٩٩٨. تحمل بكالوريوس الفنون الجميلة في التصميم الجرافيكي وماجستير الفنون الجميلة في التصميم من جامعة فرجينيا كومنولث للفنون في قطر. تستكشف الهوية والانتماء وتحقيق الذات عبر التصميم الطباعي والرسم والبحث. وتستند إلى خلفيتها الإيرانية ونشأتها في قطر، جامعةً الحروف العربية والفارسية بالصور السريالية والألوان. تناولت أطروحتها للماجستير عام ٢٠٢٥، فكرة تجذّر الإنسان في مكان جديد من خلال أشجار القرم، جامعةً بين العلم والروحانية والسرد. ومن خلال استخلاص الملح والتكوينات النباتية، تأملت العلاقة المتبادلة بين الإنسان والمكان. كما قدّمت ورشاً إبداعية لطلاب أكاديمية ريناد بالتعاون مع الجامعة، استخدمت فيها الرسم والنحت وأنشطة فنية قائمة على اللعب لدعم التعبير والاستكشاف. وتجمع سلسلة بطاقاتها البريدية المصوّرة «كيو إيه ١٠١» التصميم الطباعي العربي بصور من الطعام واللباس والعمارة والفن والطبيعة في قطر، لتقدّم جوانب من ثقافتها.
