Mojtaba Adibi

Biography

Mojtaba Adibi, also known as Moji Adibi, is a designer born in Mashhad and based in Tehran. He began his artistic practice by drawing caricatures for the local Khorasan press before turning to graphic design and professional typography. The relationship between letters and images remains a central question in his work. He explores the less familiar possibilities of Persian text, seeking ways to integrate writing and imagery. Rather than relying on existing digital letterforms, he redraws and reconstructs them during the design process, allowing greater freedom to bring letters and images together. This transformation continues until the distinction between text and image becomes difficult to separate. For Adibi, the two are intertwined rather than independent elements, and their integration allows him to express his ideas more fully. His early experience in cartooning continues to inform the humor in his work, connecting his typographic experiments with the beginnings of his practice.
